Calvin & Hobbes Christmas

Posted by Saint Nick

Um, last Friday was our ward Christmas/ talent show activity and my roommates and I were on the agenda to perform a talent. We have kinda formed a rap band, so at the last minute we put together a Jingle Bells remix track and wrote some lyrics for. So we did that to kick off the dance portion of the activity.

So before the talent show I started playing with a software that creates beats and I used the keyboard to play Jingle Bells. I am not musically talented, but Alex is, so he finished it and we put a beat to it. And in order to upload it on to here it has to be in video format, so I put a slide show together for it. It's Calvin & Hobbes making snowmen. Enjoy.

Sorry it can't go full screen, but if you hit Ctrl + a couple times it will make everything bigger.

Merry Christmas!

The Pew-llow

Posted by Saint Nick

So, for my History of Creativity class I had to do a project where I had to come up with something creative. Sounds simple, right? Some people played music, or sung songs, or made display boards of something. Me? I came up with a revolutionary product that will change the way the world worships.

Introducing....

The Pew-llow.

It is a small pillow that attaches to the pew in front of you at church, and provides a soft place to rest your head without leaving that embarrassing red mark on your forehead. Sleep and worship comfortably.

Good idea, huh? Apparently my teacher thought that it was only C+ worthy. What a [expletive]. It must only sound good in theory.

It comes in many different designs, like your favorite sports team or cartoon character.

Anyway, soon maybe there will be a hook attached that allows for a hanging hymn book/ scripture holder that lets you to rest your head and sing/ read.

I'm still kinda bitter about the grade I received, but oh well.

Merry Christmas

The Holy War

Posted by Saint Nick

Yesterday was the Holy War (Utah vs. BYU). Marissa, Whit and I packed up our stuff and headed off to LaVell Edwards Stadium. Marissa had big huge blue eye lashes on and as we were waiting for the game to start I did some face paint for them. Not my best work, but it was still good.

You can't see their face paint in this picture, though.

So, the game was awesome, we had better seats than we expected we'd have. BYU wore royal blue uni's to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the National Championship team. The 1st half was all about BYU. Utah only had a couple field goals and the Cougars were running the ball pretty good.

The 2nd half was Utah crawling back into it and tying the game at 20.

So, the game went into OT. we immediately packed up our stuff in a blanket in anticipation of rushing the field. Utah had the ball first and got a field goal. Then on BYU's second play they scored a TD.

We took off down the aisle to the field, we had 41 rows to go. We raced out on the field and joined the crowd.
It's kinda blurry, but that's Andrew George crowd surfing and he went right over us (he caught the game winning TD)....Rissa kept grabbing his butt.

So, we chilled down on the field as they gave blankets to the seniors. We then left for pizza.

...I also ripped up some turf and put it in my pocket.

BYU Basketball

Yesterday Marissa, Whit and I went to an exhibition BYU basketball game against Central Washington. BYU destroyed them.

The point is, before the game we were sitting in the 3rd row and this guy came around asking for crazy fans. Marissa volunteered me and the guy sent me up to a couch that was set up halfway up the student section. I was there with 3 other people and there was so much extra space on the couches it was getting kinda awkward. They invited Rissa and Whit to sit with us.

In the 2nd half of the game they showed us on the couch up on the big screen and we had to act excited. So we did, they had us up there on the big screen for a long time. Then Cosmo came up and jumped on Whit and Rissa (Rissa kept complimenting Cosmo on how good he smelled). Cosmo and I then started a dance party up where we were, and it was on the big screen for a long time as well.

If you go to BYU.tv and look up the game and go to the 1:20-ish mark you will see it. Or, if this video works, it's Aaron recording it on the TV with his cell phone. You can get the gist of it.

Go Cougs!

Rainboween

Friday 30 Oct 2009 - Ward Halloween Party

We were all trying to decide, as an apartment, what to be for Halloween. Different ideas were being thrown around, such as Michael Jackson's glove (each of us be a finger), or go as laptop computers chatting on facebook.

We decided to go as colors instead. We went to DI (which is packed on Halloween by the way) and each found fleeces of colors that we were assigned to. Alex was yellow, Woodward (the man of many names) was red, Blake was green, and I was purple.

So if anyone asked, we were our individual colors.

But put us together, and WHAM!!!

We're the Rainboween!

You can't see it, but I am holding a pot o' gold.

Saturday 21 Oct 2009 - Taco Bell

Saturday night, Woodward and I went to Lehi to a stake Halloween party and we were there for a little while, then we left. Taco bell was giving out free black jack tacos until midnight, one per customer. Well, there were about 4 taco bells on our way home. So, we hit up every single one. At one of them, the cashier dude gave us free soft drinks as well. Score!

After we went through every Taco bell and got our tacos, I called up Rissa and her and Whit came over, we got out of Woodward's car and into mine, and went around for round 2. In total, between us all, we scored 21 free tacos, and 2 free soft drinks.

Good times.

College GameDay

Okay, so the stories you are about to read happened 3 weeks ago (Marissa has had my camera so I haven't been able to post anything).

24 Oct

5:30 AM
Hadn't slept all night because we were partying and doing random stuff that caused there to be no point to go to sleep. However, Blake (my roommate) had fallen asleep for about half and hour and I woke him up. I texted Marissa to wake her up, and Blake and I started walking to the set of College GameDay. (For those of you who don't know, this is what College GameDay is).

6:01 AM
We arrive at the stadium and found the end of the line. It had snaked back around so the end of the line was kinda be the front end. And when the line finally collapsed, we went from the end of the line, to the front. People we were waiting in line with were pretty upset because they had be waiting there overnight or longer.

6:28 AM
Marissa and Whitni catch up with Blake and I. We are still waiting in line, they are only allowing 5 people at a time every 10 minutes.

6:49 AM
We are at the front of the line and and the guard says, "Let's let these little ones in." Referring to Whitni and so we all follow right behind her and get in. We go up to the front and stand along the barricade on the inside.
7:00 AM
Sportscenter starts and they show some clips of the crowd. Some people are handing out chocolate milk and donuts, I grabbed two donuts (sprinkled and glazed) and snagged an orange juice and chocolate milk.

8:00 AM
College GameDay starts, we cheered our hearts out.

7:34 AM
These annoying little high school kids held up big signs in front of us, partially blocking our view. I put Whit up on my shoulders and we see that her waving hands make it on national TV.

9:15 AM
This guy squeezes in between Blake and the rest of us. Marissa tells him to move and he says he won't, she then laid down the smack and let Blake in front of him. (Mind you, this guy was about 40 years old, kinda pathetic to try and go against Rissa).

10:00 AM
College GameDay ends, and we shuffle on out. Blake and I walk back home, Blake was pretty much asleep, he barely made it. I was also struggling to stay awake, so when we got home we went to bed and I slept until 4:00 PM.

Unfortunately, BYU lost to TCU but College GameDay was really awesome.
(Rissa's face paint is supposed to be the BYU helmet).

Once I get pictures of Halloween those will be posted as well.
